Wyndham Vale Road Incident

I rise to express my sincere gratitude to the people who rushed to assist the family involved in the horrific road incident in Wyndham Vale last Wednesday. I have expressed my condolences already to the family; however, I would like to reiterate today my deepest sympathies for the loss of Bol, Anger and Madit. On behalf of the community of Wyndham, I would like to thank the CFA volunteers from the Wyndham Vale, Werribee and Hoppers Crossing fire brigades, members of Victoria Police and the ambulance service, and members of the local community who rushed to the aid of the family at the time of the incident. No-one wants this to happen in their community, but the courage and strength shown by those who came to assist in the rescue is truly commendable. I thank the emergency staff at the Royal Children’s Hospital, the wider Wyndham community and the local South Sudanese community for coming together to help the family as they grieve and come to terms with the incident.
