Labor Will Complete Werribee SC

Victorian Labor will finish the redevelopment of Werribee Secondary College.

Labor’s $7 million commitment will go to completing the third stage of the school’s redevelopment after it was indefinitely delayed under the Napthine Government.

Parents, teachers and students at Werribee have been waiting too long.

Under Denis Napthine, our schools are falling apart and our kids are falling behind.

The rebuild at Werribee Secondary College started under the previous Labor Government but has been ignored by the Napthine Liberal Government for almost four years.

The local school community – from students, parents and teachers to the Committee for Wyndham – have run a strong community campaign and Victorian Labor has listened.

Key Facts

• The Napthine Government abandoned Labor’s plan to renovate, rebuild or modernise every Victorian government school.

• The Napthine Government has only spent a state-wide average of $278 million a year on capital works compared to an average spend of $467 million by Labor in its last term in office.

• The school received $12 million from the previous Labor government to complete the first two stages.
