NEW FUNDING FOR COMMUNITY FACILITIES AND CULTURAL CENTRES IN WERRIBEE
The Andrews Labor Government will provide funding to culturally diverse community organisation in Werribee and Wyndham to support the construction of the community cultural precincts.
Member for Werribee Tim Pallas today announced a $32,686 grant to the Wyndham Community and Education Centre to assist in the fit-out of the Communities of Burma Hub at the opening of the Centre’s new head office at the Corner of Duncans Road and Synnot Street, Werribee.
This funding will come through the Labor Government’s Community Infrastructure and Cultural Precincts (CICP) program.
CICP promotes greater use of community facilities by Victoria’s culturally diverse communities, increasing their participation in activities, improving access to services and enabling Victoria’s cultural precincts to remain attractive for cultural and tourism activities.
The Labor Government is promoting an inclusive society where every Victorian can preserve and share their culture and traditions in spaces of their own heritage.
All the funded projects will increase diverse communities’ access to good, functional facilities that enable them to better utilise services, participate in activities and share their cultures with the wider Victorian community.
