$250 BILL-BUSTING PAYMENT AVAILABLE TO ALL VICTORIANS

All Victorian households can now claim the state’s flagship cost of living support measure, a $250 bill-busting Power Saving Bonus, just by visiting the Victorian Energy Compare price comparison website or engaging with a community outreach partner.

The Victorian Government understands the cost of living is going up in Wyndham and is taking direct action to support all Victorians during the recent spike in energy prices.

From Friday, 1 July, a new $250 Power Saving Bonus payment becomes available to all Victorians, including the more than 400,000 concession card holders who claimed under the program’s previous phase.

The bonus is available to access at any time in the next 12 months and there are no limits or caps on the number of households that can receive the once-off payment.

The quickest way to apply is through the Victorian Energy Compare website. Victorians can also call the VEC helpline on 1800 000 832 or receive support from community outreach partners Good Shepherd – Neighbourhood House, Consumer Action Law Centre, Ethnic Community Council, Brotherhood of St Laurence, and State Trustees.

Households that previously claimed a $50 or $250 Power Saving Bonus are eligible for this new one-off payment.

Other programs to slash energy bills include Victorian Energy Upgrades, which provides upfront incentives for low-cost-to-free energy efficient products such as door and window sealing, efficient hot water and heating systems, and in-home displays for real-time energy usage data.

Separately, Solar Victoria offers households and businesses discounted solar panels, batteries and efficient heating and cooling. For more information, visit Victorian Energy Saver: www.victorianenergysaver.vic.gov.au.
