TIM PALLAS MP CONGRATULATES WYNDHAM COMMUNITY AND EDUCATION CENTRE FOR THEIR LEARN LOCAL AWARDS NOMINATION

Local Werribee MP, Tim Pallas, has congratulated the Wyndham Community and Education Centre for being named a finalist Learn Local Awards.

Mr Pallas said the Wyndham Community and Education Centre was a finalist in the AMES Diversity and Innovation Award category.

Announcing the finalists while visiting Chelsea Learn Local organisation Longbeach PLACE today, Minister for Training and Skills Steve Herbert said the awards demonstrated the high-calibre of training taking place across the state’s Learn Local Organisations.

Mr Herbert said the awards showcase and celebrate the achievements of students, teachers and Learn Local organisations from across Victoria.

Award winners will share in $50,000 in prize money, and will be announced at the gala awards event at Collingwood Town Hall on September 10.

Finalists in the AMES Diversity and Innovation Award will receive $1,000 to recognise their fantastic work.

The Andrews Labor Government is supporting Learn Local organisations, investing more than $16 million in supporting pre-accredited training delivery   to support learners of all ages develop new skills.

The sector will also be involved in further consultations regarding the independent VET Funding Review, which is advising the Andrews Labor Government on a more stable and sustainable funding model for all training providers, including Learn Locals.
