NEW MEN’S SHED FOR WYNDHAM VALE

The Andrews Labor Government has announced a new Men’s Shed for Wyndham Vale, thanks to a $16,000 grant.

Member for Werribee Tim Pallas joined members of the Wyndham Vale Men’s Shed during Mental Health Week.

Mr Pallas said the new shed will boost space for community programs and support the physical and mental wellbeing of locals.

The grant goes towards retrofitting an AtCo Hut into an interim Men’s Shed while council explores the opportunity of a local community facility to house the Men’s Shed and its activities permanently.

Men’s Sheds are safe and practical places for men to meet, make social connections and actively participate in their local communities.

They also promote social inclusion and enhance the physical and mental wellbeing of men in local communities and are especially important in local communities such as Wyndham Vale

The grant was part of a $1.2 million funding boost to build or refurbish 32 new or existing Men’s Sheds around Victoria.
