NEW NAME FOR NEW SCHOOL IN WYNDHAM VALE REVEALED

The name of the new primary school opening in Wyndham in 2021 has now been chosen, following local community consultation.
Member for Werribee Tim Pallas today unveiled the official name for the new school as Riverbend Primary School, which was formerly known by its interim name of Wollahra Primary School.

The school is among 14 new schools being built by the Andrews Labor Government and set to open in 2021.

Riverbend Primary School is currently under construction and is set to open at the beginning of the school year.
The new school will include three learning neighbourhoods, administration building, outdoor play courts, performing arts and physical education building, and sports field.

The name was chosen following community consultation and discussions with Geographic Names Victoria, with consideration given to factors including public interest, relevance to the local area, and the consideration of local indigenous languages.

Under the Andrews Labor Government’s school building boom, a total of 100 new schools will open by 2026, ensuring every child has a great local school and a great start in life.

The Andrews Labor Government has invested $7.2 billion to deliver more than 1,460 school upgrades, supporting more than 7,500 construction jobs for Victorians.

The Labor Government is building the Education State so that every student can access a great local school and get a quality education.
