MAINTENANCE BOOST FOR WERRIBEE SCHOOLS

Member for Werribee Tim Pallas today announced that Thomas Chirnside Primary School and Werribee Primary School would share in over $660,000 of additional maintenance funding, thanks to an unprecedented investment by the Andrews Labor Government.

Thomas Chirnside Primary School will receive $317,000 to address urgent toilet repairs and to allow the construction of a new playground on site.

Werribee Primary School will receive $346,000 for urgent toilet repairs.

This is part of a state-wide package of $515 million, which is the single largest boost to school maintenance ever undertaken.

This increased investment will enable principals to get on with the job of leading Victoria’s schools, by providing more funds to maintain the state’s 36,000 school buildings, while supporting schools to cater to the 115,000 additional students who are expected to enter the education system over the next five years.

The Labor Government has invested $6.1 billion to deliver new primary and secondary schools, upgrade more than 1,400 existing ones and create over 7,500 construction jobs across the state.

The Labor Government is building the Education State so that every student can access a great local school and get a great education.
