LOCALS URGED TO NOMINATE FOR 2016 VICTORIAN LEARN LOCAL AWARDS

Member for Werribee, Tim Pallas MP has today urged locals to nominate outstanding Victorians involved in the state’s Learn Local organisations as part of the 2016 Victorian Learn Local Awards are now open.

The awards celebrate the contribution more than 300 Learn Local organisations make to training across Victoria.

Tim Pallas MP is encouraging inspirational pre-accredited learners and outstanding practitioners from across the state to apply.

Learn Locals offer Werribee residents pre-accredited and accredited training with courses in everything from literacy and numeracy to communication and job search skills and play an important role in supporting everyday Victorians.

There are five categories at the Learn Local Awards this year including pre-accredited learner and outstanding practitioner, outstanding pathways program, excellence in creating local solutions and for diversity innovation.

Tim Pallas MP said residents could share in the $50,000 prize money across the five categories.
