GRANTS TO HELP SICK AND INJURED WILDLIFE NOW OPEN

Registered wildlife shelters and carers in Wyndham will have the opportunity to have their important work supported with extra funding available this year through a Victorian Government grants program.

The 2020-21 Wildlife Rehabilitator Grants are now open with $200,000 available to help wildlife shelters and carers look after sick, injured and orphaned wildlife.

Member for Werribee Tim Pallas said another $30,000 will also be made available to key wildlife institutions and priority projects.
Wildlife rehabilitators can apply for Individual grants of $3,000, an increase of $500 on last year, to help fund items such as food, rescue equipment, petrol, veterinary fees and new enclosures.

Since 2008 the Wildlife Rehabilitator Grants program has provided $2.3 million in individual grants through an annual competitive grant process, and organisation grants to key wildlife institutions.

Anyone who finds sick, injured or orphaned wildlife can use the Government’s Help for Injured Wildlife online tool to find a registered shelter or carer anywhere in Victoria.
