Delivering Support for Wyndham Libraries

DELIVERING SUPPORT FOR WYNDHAM LIBRARIES

The Andrews Labor Government is investing in improving public libraries in Wyndham so that local communities continue to have access to quality facilities.

Minister for Local Government Adem Somyurek today announced $4.5 million was available as part of the 2019-20 Living Libraries Funding Program (LLIP).

Member for Werribee Tim Pallas encouraged local councils and regional library corporations in Wyndham to apply for grants to build, redevelop or refurbish libraries.

Libraries enrich, strengthen and connect communities by providing free public access to information, technology, literacy support as well as training and skills development.

The Labor Government has invested $18 million through the LLIP over the last four years to deliver high quality infrastructure to meet changing needs of Victorian communities.

Councils are required to make a contribution except for small rural Councils.

Victoria is home to 271 permanent library branches and 28 mobile library services, with more than 2.1 million library members registered in the state.
