DEFIBRILLATOR TO MAKE WERRIBEE GOLF CLUB SAFER

The Andrews Labor Government is equipping the Werribee Golf Club with a life-saving defibrillator.
Today, Member for Werribee, Tim Pallas announced the Werribee Golf Club is one of nearly 150 clubs across the state receiving the life-saving device as part of the second round of the Defibrillators Grants Program.
When cardiac arrest strikes, there’s not a second to spare.
Early intervention greatly increases the likelihood of survival during cardiac arrest. Having a defibrillator means players, parents and spectators can step in and take action until paramedics arrive.
The Labor Government promised to install life-saving defibrillators at 1000 grassroots clubs across Victoria, and that’s exactly what we’re doing. More than a dozen Victorians suffer cardiac arrest every day, so we know this investment will save lives.
Defibrillators at local sports clubs keep players safe and spectators protected, but they’re also a vital tool for the community. Each device will be registered with Ambulance Victoria’s database, giving triple zero operators a handy guide of where to find one when an emergency strikes nearby.
The Werribee electorate’s sports clubs that already have defibrillators are encouraged to ensure their devices are registered with Ambulance Victoria.
