BIGGER BETTER BIKE CAGE AT HOPPERS CROSSING STATION

Riding to Hoppers Crossing Station and catching the train will soon be easier than ever with a bigger, better Parkiteer bike cage to open next month.

Member for Werribee, Tim Pallas, and Member for Tarneit, Telmo Languiller, said the extension of the existing cage would make it easier to leave the car at home, get some exercise and live more sustainably.

The bigger Parkiteer cage will provide space for an extra 24 bikes, bringing the total capacity of the new extended cage to 50 bike spaces.

The extra spaces will allow more cyclists to park their bike safely and securely before jumping on the train at Hoppers Crossing.

Use of Parkiteer cages has tripled over the last 5 years, with more than 9,000 people now registered with Parkiteer facilities across Victoria. The extension of the cage at Hoppers Crossing station will see this number grow even further.

The bigger bike cage was been funded by the Andrews Labor Government, is managed by Bicycle Network Victoria, and is due to open in early October.

Use of the cage is free, other than a $50 fully refundable bond for the access card.

To register for a secure access card for the bike cage at Hoppers Crossing Station, or find your nearest Parkiteer facility, go to parkiteer.com.au or call 1300 546 526.
