ANOTHER YEAR OF DELIVERING FOR THE WERRIBEE DISTRICT

Like it has done for the last five years, the Andrews Labor Government has been keeping its promises and delivering for the Werribee electorate since it was re-elected 365 days ago.

Sunday 24 November marks one year since the last state election, when Victorians overwhelmingly voted for the Labor Government’s positive plan for a stronger, fairer Victoria.

Since then, we’ve been getting on with the policies and projects we promised for the Werribee electorate – from building and upgrading local schools and hospitals, to delivering the road and rail projects locals need to get them home sooner. We promised to get on with delivering a great local schools for the Werribee electorate and that’s exactly what we’re doing, with construction now underway on Riverwalk Primary School.

On top of our unprecedented $5.6 billion investment in new and upgraded schools, we’re also getting on with largest ever maintenance blitz across every single one of Victoria’s 1,500 government schools.

Students and teachers at schools across the Werribee District are benefitting from more than $1.8 million to ensure their classrooms are safe, modern and well maintained.

Early childhood learning can help shape a child’s entire future. But right now, too many kids are missing out on the benefits of early childhood education because of the cost. That’s why we’re preparing for the biggest-ever reform of early childhood education with the introduction of ThreeYear-Old Kinder for every Victorian child.

From the roundabout at the end of your street to the biggest projects Victoria’s ever seen, we’re building a better transport network for Victoria – just like we said we would.

We’re building the Metro Tunnel to run more trains more often. We’re building the missing link in Melbourne’s road network by getting on with the North East Link. And we’re building the Westgate Tunnel – providing a vital alternative to the West Gate Bridge.

We’ve removed 30 of Melbourne’s most dangerous and congested level crossings – with 75 gone for good by 2025. In Werribee, works are ready to begin on the removal of the dangerous Cherry Street Crossing, set to be complete in 2022 – along with the removal of level crossings at Werribee Street and Old Geelong Road.

But we know our work doesn’t end there. This is the pace that must define our next three years and we won’t stop – Victoria’s future is relying on it.
